Usopp stared vacantly at the crazy place they'd crash-landed on. The Thousand Sunny was pretty beat up from running into some kind of metal tower, but he and Franky had been sure they could fix it.

...now, looking at all the flying scooters and metal ships, he was less certain that they would even find wood-working materials to patch up the deck, let alone a replacement for the figurehead. They'd probably be here awhile, just waiting for material to get delivered.

Though, Usopp reflected, watching another of those scooters zip through the air faster than his eyes could track, it might not be so bad around here. His fingers twitched, itching to get into the mechanism of that scooter.

Luffy's eyes almost stretched out of their sockets, and it was becoming increasingly likely that was going to happen. The young pirate doubled over, cringing.

"Luffy!" cried Nami, rushing over. "Are you--?"

"SOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL!!!" screamed Luffy at the top of his lungs. "AWESOME!! THIS PLACE IS SO COOL!"

The navigator felt the vein throbbing in her forehead again. So she punched him.

Luffy rubbed at his head, whining a bit; Nami was unapologetic. Robin smiled at their antics briefly, before a more serious expression crossed her face. They were on a completely new planet, if the strange sky and unusual light feeling she was experiencing were any clue. And that was a concern. They had no idea if the people were friendly, or if they even spoke the same language.

"Hey, Robin, don't you think this place is cool?" Luffy asked, seeing her not-totally-excited face. "Look at all the crazy flying stuff! And I can't see an ocean anywhere around here--woah, look down! We're not even near the ground! This is nuts!" Luffy climbed down the newly discovered support beams holding up the patch of 'ground' they had been standing on, and most of the crew followed (Franky stayed behind to guard the ship, and no one had been able to wake Zoro yet).

Holding on to a rung with one hand, Robin leaned forward, peering at the *very* long drop to the next level of the city. That explained why everyone was using airships and scooters, she thought, noticing one unusual-looking ship fly through a narrow opening between the levels of the city and twist in a double--no, triple--no, quadruple barrel roll, before spiraling around the ladder they were climbing down. Her hair whipped around her as he passed, and Nami pulled back towards the ladder, a short cry escaping her as the ship came dangerously close to her head.

The blue and silver dome on the near wing of the ship turned, and a red light blinked once, twice at Robin. The...ship? a living ship? made a chirping noise, and spun once more around the ladder before slowing to a stop and hovering in front of the straw hat crew. A glass shell lifted with a quiet hiss, and a young man pulled himself out of the ship and looked at them strangely.

To be fair, they were probably looking at him just as strangely; he wasn't what any of them would have expected in a pilot of one of these airships. He was tall, with shaggy brown hair, and dressed in coarse brown robes that didn't quite match with the chrome colors of his ship.

Luffy, who was dangling over the railing with one hand, stared at the young man. "Naa? Who are you?" He asked.

"I should be asking you that," replied the man, folding his arms. The small dome on the ship bleeped something. "Not now, Artoo." The young man said. "If these people aren't supposed to be here, then I have to take them in." Another bleep. "... Obi-Wan would say that."

Luffy wrinkled his nose. "Artoo? Obi-Wan? Weird names."

Anakin frowned at the lanky-limbed boy, taking in his appearance--ragged red vest, worn shorts, old straw hat and all. "I hardly think you are allowed here, based on your attire--"

"Hold on, hold on, hold on!" He glanced down; the long-nosed one was clinging to one of the lower rungs by one arm and waving at him with the other hand frantically. "That thing--" he motioned to R2-D2.

"--its name is R2-D2."

"Whatever, whatever. That thing just beeped, and you understood it?"

Anakin stared at the boy dumbly. "And why wouldn't I?"

The strange boy's eyes grew wide, as did the first boy's. "That's SO COOL!" they shouted.

Anakin blinked. What strange people...strange, probably-not-allowed-here people, he reminded himself.

Sanji (after seeing that Nami was making down okay) walked up to to Anakin. The two stared for a minute, then Sanji removed his cigarette and blow smoke out the side of his mouth. Then he turned and starting walking down the landing platform. "You won't get many girls with that haircut."

R2-D2 beeped another response, which sounded jovial--almost like it was laughing. Anakin glared at his droid.

He ran a hand through his hair, muttered something about Padme, and jumped from the side of the airship just as R2-D2 lowered the landing gear on the lower level of the city. The entire motley bunch of strangers had finished the climb by now, and he got a good look at all of them from behind, from the strangest (...a skeleton? a skeleton man...with a head full of hair?) to the most mundane (the blond that had insulted his hair).

"And where are you going?"

The dark haired lanky boy turned around and blinked at him for a minute, then smiled widely. "We're gonna find someone to fix our ship! And maybe explore a bit; this place is pretty cool!"

"Not just yet, you aren't." Anakin pulled himself into his best trust-and-fear-me,-I'm-a-Jedi pose. "First, tell me your names, your business here, and any associations you have on Coruscant that can account for you." At the strange looks on their faces, he relaxed a bit. "If you're here legally, you don't have to worry--I'm a Jedi."

Rather than reassuring the group, his statement seemed to confuse them further. "What's...a Jedi?" The straw hat boy asked, scratching at the side of his face.

"Judging from his clothing," spoke up Robin. "And his stance... some sort of... authority?"

Luffy's eyes went wide. "Like the Navy?" He whirled around to Anakin, fists up. "If you're a Marine, I'll send you flying!"

Chopper, who was hiding behind Nami the whole time, spoke. "L-luffy, I don't think that's a good idea..."

"I'm with Chopper," said Usopp, shivering. "This guy reminds me of Zoro!"

A pair of hoarse shouts from above grabbed everyone's attention. Luffy peered up at a flesh-colored speck falling from the sky. As it got closer, he noticed more color to it--bright blue, and a pale green. "Is that...Franky? And Zoro?"

Usopp had pulled his goggles down, and was adjusting the magnifier. "It is! Why'd they leave the ship behind?"

"More important than that," Nami interrupted, looking up worriedly, "why'd they jump? There's a ladder there, they don't need to risk their necks just to get down here."

Chopper looked up at his falling friends anxiously. "Usopp, do you see anything else?"

Usopp frowned, twisting at knobs on his goggles. "Yeah, sort of...it's like some kind of white spider-thing, climbing down that pole. It's really fast--I've never seen anything like it before!" He lifted up his goggles, shaking a bit. "I think it's chasing them, guys!"

Chopper shivered a bit, clinging to Nami's leg. "If it's so dangerous that Zoro and Franky ran away from it--"

"--then I'm just gonna have to beat it up," Luffy said confidently, rubbing his bicep as he crouched down. "I can probably get up there in one jump...hey! What're you doing?"

While Luffy had been distracted by his falling nakama, the Jedi had climbed on the wing of his plane and gotten R2-D2 to start up the engine again. He grabbed Luffy by the scruff of his vest, ignoring the shouts of surprise from below as the ship took off. With a grunt and a heave, Anakin tossed Luffy onto the other wing. With only a little bit of wobbling, Luffy steadied himself against the metal and stood up, letting his hat fly back and off his head, the string around his neck pulling tight.

"No living creature could make that jump," Anakin said, pulling out a short metal pole. "But if you think you can stand a chance against a rogue droid like that, it's better for me to bring you along then let you try to jump in the middle of things." With a loud cry, he jumped off of the plane's wing, swinging the pole--which now had a humming light coming off of it from one end--at the white spider-thing.

Luffy watched, torn, as Zoro and Franky fell past him, horrified and shocked looks on their faces. Then, with a grunt and frown of determination, he jumped off the plane as well, diving towards his friends. He stretched one arm to wrap around Zoro and another to wrap around Franky, and pulled them to him, puffing into a balloon and hoping that his nakama below would keep the three of them from crashing too badly.
